Jessica Epp & Bob Piquette met one sunny day in June on the streets of Toronto, Jessica had a number of songs written and was searching for accompaniment, and after hearing Bob strumming his heart out she knew she had found the perfect soulful fit. She sang a few of her originals on the spot and the rest as they say is history.
Jessica is relativly new to the scene, as a child she sang in church choir, school plays and for the eldery with family every Christmas. It wasn't until January of this year inspired after taking a sustainabilites course that she decided it was high time to make something of her lyrics and hire a vocal coach. Bob Piquette aka Bob Paws has twenty five years of expierience after picking up a guitar at age fourteen, playing open mics, busking and gigging in the city. He was an integral member of "Eight Years" & "Ellie and the wolves". They decided to join forces and start "Perhaps Portia" a musical style that is a blend of Rock, Jazz & Beatnik Blues, a mixture that varies song to song. The lyrics are Portia's mental meanderings and musings.... using art as a social commentary, to motivate people towards citing positive change and to create awareness towards a more sustainable future. Perhaps Portia seeks to reach for the stars & develop albums for the world to hear. The Band shows promise after booking a gig upon there first open mic in the city! Whats next for Perhaps Portia? Only you can help!
